Project Overview

Pluto Train 2 is an expansion project at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha, operated by Woodside Energy. The project will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of approximately 5 million tonnes per annum, with additional domestic gas infrastructure installed to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day.

Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2.

• 3:1 FIFO roster to Karratha with direct flights from Perth and Brisbane
• 68-hour work week
• Fly home morning of day 21, paid at ordinary hours – home the same day
• Accrued RDO – choose to have it paid during RNR or at the end of your contract
• Full-time, permanent employment (4 weeks of annual leave, 10 days of personal leave)
• $5.40 per hour site allowance
• $175 per week project incentive payment
• Severance payment of 2 x base hourly rate per week

Position Overview

As a Telecommunications Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Installation and fabrication of telecom and electrical components, including structured cabling and networking systems
• Use of calibrated instruments to manage and test continuity of telecom circuits and systems
• Working within a live plant environment following project safety absolutes

Qualifications and Skills

• To be considered for this role, you must have:
• Trade Qualification
• WA Restricted Electrical Licence
• ACMA Open Cable Registration
• Strong experience in telecom systems and CAT6A structured cabling with endorsements
• Experience in WLAN/LAN networking installation and fault-finding
• Experience in fibre optic cabling, PAGA systems, and fire systems (desirable)
• Construction White Card
• First Aid, CPR & LVR
• Gas Test Atmospheres (preferred)
• Cert IV in Hazardous Areas (preferred)
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical screening
• Previous LNG/Major project experience (desirable)

Additional Information

This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).

The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site. Mobile phones and other personal electronic devices – i.e. wireless headphones, iPads, smart watches - are also not permitted on site.
