About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical / Project Engineer to join our team on a FIFO roster to a mine site in North Queensland. This role is perfect for someone who's already cut their teeth on site and is confident working across brownfield environments, heavy assets, and complex project scopes.

This will be an initial 6-month engagement, with the possibility of extension — either continuing on site or moving into a longer-term role in our head office for those who are interested in an office-based career path.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading and delivering small to mid-size capital works projects from concept through to close-out
  • Planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting project progress
  • Providing mechanical engineering expertise across mining and materials handling infrastructure
  • Managing contractors and maintaining strong safety and compliance standards
  • Supporting site-based problem solving, troubleshooting, and improvement initiatives
  • Liaising with stakeholders across engineering, operations, maintenance, and external vendors

What we're looking for

  • 7+ years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Project Engineer
  • Strong site experience – you've worked in mining or heavy industrial environments and understand how things run on the ground
  • Solid background in mining, mine infrastructure, and materials handling equipment
  • Demonstrated experience delivering capital projects (brownfield experience highly regarded)
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and keep projects moving safely and effectively
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related)
