Rural Business Support (RBS) is an independent not for profit organisation committed to assisting small businesses, farmers, landowners, and communities in Northern Territory and South Australia in achieving profitability and sustainability.

This includes delivering free, independent and confidential rural financial counselling services for regionally based primary producers.

We are seeking a Rural Financial Counsellor to support drought affected farming businesses across South Australia that are facing or at risk of financial hardship, particularly those across the Murraylands, Mallee or Riverland regions. Your main objective will be to help these businesses understand their financial position and develop effective strategies for them to manage their circumstances.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Possess outstanding problem-solving abilities with an attention to detail.
  • Be able to demonstrate empathy and understanding towards clients experiencing financial stress.
  • Have exceptional communication skills to effectively convey financial information to clients.
  • Have knowledge of Agribusiness finance, banking processes and lending criteria, debt negotiation and mediation processes
  • Possess excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Be proficient in using various computer programs including spreadsheets and financial software.
  • Be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

A Diploma of Financial Counselling is desirable and previous experience in business, finance, banking, and consulting will be highly regarded.
