In 1956 the community of Armadale and Kelmscott recognised the need to provide accommodation for elderly residents. From the first public meeting it was clear that the community of Armadale and Kelmscott would make this project happen and to this day we hold fast to the principal that Dale Cottages is an organisation that values all community members. In October 1959 the first duplex opened in John Street Armadale. Since then, our organisation has grown in its mission to care for all community groups.
About the Role
The Occupational Therapy Assistant is responsible for supporting the Occupational Therapist to deliver high quality Occupational Therapy and related lifestyle services to customers in accordance with therapy service standards, best practice guidelines, legislation and organisational policy and procedures. They will work under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist delivering therapy services. They will follow and adhere to organisational policies and procedures that relate to occupational therapy services.
Duties may include but not limited to:
- Provide services as directed by the Occupational Therapist that will meet the needs of the resident in accordance with professional and service standards.
- Ensures documentation is updated in accordance with organisational policies and procedures and accreditation requirements.
- Adhere to systems and processes requirements to ensure the therapy team complies with the Aged Care Quality Commission Standards.
- Actively gathers feedback from residents and their families regarding therapy support services.
- Reports hazards, near misses and injuries immediately, ensuring safety reporting processes are followed.
- Maintains own professional development and is pro-active and adaptive in learning new concepts.

Essential:
- Minimum Cert III in Allied Health
- Previous experience as a Therapy Assistant
- Previous experience in Aged Care
- Effective organisational skills and able to work independently and take initiative.
- Current Police Clearance - no more than 3 months old.
- Proof of 2025 Influenza Vaccination
- All applicants must have permanent work rights.
