The Opportunity
Our Coke & Ironmaking team is looking for a Raw Materials Tester to join the team based in Port Kembla on a 12-Month Fixed Term Contract. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
As a key member of a highly skilled and collaborative team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality sample results to our production team and key stakeholders. You'll be troubleshooting and resolving instrument issues and ensuring the reliability of our testing processes.
Joining an established, professional team, you will work 12-hour day shift roster (2 on/2 off – 3 on/2 off), Monday through Sunday. We offer a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and excellent opportunities for career development and growth.
What Will You Do?
In this role, you will perform analysis of raw materials to enable conversion of iron ore to steel. You'll be;
- maintaining sample quality by following procedures and operating RMS equipment via PLC systems.
- performing raw material sampling, collection, preparation, and testing as per procedures and customer needs.
- conducting routine inspections and maintenance on equipment required for sampling, sample preparation and analysis and take any necessary corrective actions
- preparing solutions and standards required for both sampling and chemical analysis
- proactively identify opportunities to improve and streamline our procedures or testing

- familiarity with automation
- diligence in attention to detail to ensure all analyses are performed according to the approved procedure, ensuring accuracy and precision of the results

- a commitment to delivering precise, high-quality analyses that contribute to the production of top-tier steel and product
