About the role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Hatchery Aquaculture Attendant to join our team at Seafarm Queensland Pty Ltd in Flying Fish Point, QLD. This full-time position will see you playing a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our aquaculture hatchery, supporting the growth and development of our prawns.

What you'll be doing

  1. Assisting with the operation and maintenance of the hatchery, including water quality monitoring, feeding, and cleaning of tanks and equipment
  2. Monitoring the health and growth of hatchlings and juveniles, and reporting any issues to the senior aquaculture team
  3. Participating in data collection and record-keeping to support continuous improvement of hatchery processes
  4. Collaborating with the wider operations team to ensure efficient and effective hatchery operations
  5. Undertaking training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of aquaculture

What we're looking for

  1. A relevant tertiary qualification in aquaculture, marine biology, science or a similar field
  2. Strong attention to detail and a keen interest in the science and practice of aquaculture
  3. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to identify and address any issues that arise
  4. Good physical fitness and the ability to work in a hands-on, outdoor environment
  5. A collaborative and team-oriented approach, with the ability to work effectively with others
  6. A passion for sustainability and the marine environment
