As Regional Manager, Psychological Services, you will play a key role in the effective and efficient delivery of high-quality mental health services in correctional centres. You will provide leadership and strategic management of a regional psychological and allied health workforce across multiple locations, ensuring accountable, outcome-based, high-quality mental health practices.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide leadership and operational coordination of allied health teams across multiple locations.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality, outcome-focused mental health service delivery.
  • Monitor workforce management across nominated locations to identify priorities and resource allocation
  • Provide expert clinical advice, clinical practice supervision, and training to staff
  • Contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and operational analysis.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and maintain a clinical caseload for complex cases.
  • Ensure compliance with governance, human resource, budget, and work place health and safety requirements.
  • Mentor senior staff and drive continuous improvement in service delivery.

What you'll bring

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience in criminal justice, human services, or allied health settings
  • Proven leadership and management of service delivery teams, including ability to apply contemporary human resource management practices
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • High-level negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
  • Demonstrated experience in change management
  • Capacity to drive operational capability and continuous improvement
  • Understanding and application of practice supervision models and techniques.
  • Knowledge, interpretation and application of relevant legislation, policies and procedures

Mandatory Requirements

  • Psychologists: Tertiary qualification in Psychology, full AHPRA general registration as a Psychologist, Approval by Psychology Board as supervisor or eligibility to undertake process (mandatory), postgraduate qualification in clinical/forensic psychology and practice area endorsement (highly regarded).
  • Social Workers: Eligible for AASW membership (mandatory), mental health accreditation through AASW and/or 2+ years' post-graduate experience in mental health (highly desirable), postgraduate qualification (highly regarded).
  • Occupational Therapists: Degree in Occupational Therapy, and AHPRA registration (mandatory), mental health endorsement and/or 2+ years' post-graduate experience in mental health (highly desirable), postgraduate qualification (highly regarded).
