About the Role

We are seeking enthusiastic General English Teachers to join our friendly and supportive team at our Brisbane CBD campus on Albert Street.

This role is the first point of contact for students arriving in Australia to study, and you will play an important part in creating a welcoming and supportive environment. It is a varied and stimulating role, offering opportunities for growth and professional development.

We welcome applications from all experience levels, particularly from new and recently graduated teachers who hold a Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in any discipline, along with CELTA or equivalent, Certificate IV in TESOL, or Graduate Certificate in TESOL. SPC actively nurtures, mentors, and supports new teachers to grow and thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality communicative lessons and assessments in the General English program.
• Build and maintain respectful relationships with students.
• Contribute to a rich and diverse extra-curricular program.
• Plan, prioritise, and organise work and resources effectively to meet departmental and organisational objectives.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
• Open to feedback and guidance in teaching approaches.

Minimum Requirements

• A recognised TESOL qualification.
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• The legal right to work in Australia.

Remuneration and Terms

Teachers are remunerated according to the Educational Services (Post-Secondary Education) Award 2020. After a qualifying period, a sessional contract may be offered, providing employment security and entitlements such as paid sick leave, annual leave, and priority rostering.

We are recruiting for a pool of teachers who are reliable and available for relief shifts (morning and evening classes) as well as regular, ongoing classes. Teachers experienced in IELTS preparation are also encouraged to apply for possible relief shifts or short-term engagements when staff are on leave.
