About The Role
At Tropic, our Infinite Purpose is to help create a healthier, greener, more empowered world - and that starts with our own team. Our People & Culture function is here to make sure every colleague feels inspired, supported, and celebrated.
We're looking for someone who brings both heart and hustle. Someone who cares deeply about creating an environment where people feel supported, empowered, and ready to shine. Someone innovative, curious, and ready to get stuck in, whether that's running a training session that leaves people energised, finding and hiring brilliant new talent, coaching a manager through a tricky ER case, or dreaming up fresh ways to boost wellbeing and engagement across HQ.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment: Drive recruitment across all areas of the business, from writing engaging job ads to screening applications, running interviews, and securing the very best talent. You'll focus on building inclusive processes that attract brilliant, diverse people who'll thrive at Tropic.
- Inductions & Training: Deliver dynamic new starter inductions and design and present training programmes that spark growth and confidence.
- Learning & Development: Partner with managers and colleagues to build learning opportunities, workshops, and development pathways that support performance, growth, and career progression.
- Employee Relations: Provide expert guidance on ER matters, supporting managers and colleagues alike to navigate challenges with confidence, fairness, and care.
- Culture & Engagement: Spark new ways for our team's voice to be heard; through creative surveys, feedback loops, and open dialogue, all while championing wellbeing, inclusion, and volunteering initiatives that keep our culture meaningful, connected, and thriving.
- Platform & Brand Management: Champion our people platforms - Employment Hero (bonus if you've used it before), Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and Indeed - making sure our internal systems run smoothly and our external people brand shines bright.
- HR Essentials: Collaborate closely with the team on the day-to-day HR foundations, including contracts, compliance, and policies, delivering them with a people-first approach that's clear, fair, and human.
- Innovation: Collaborate with the wider P&C team to bring fresh ideas, challenge the status quo, and co-create the future of People & Culture at Tropic.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years' experience in a broad People/HR role, ideally in a fast-paced, growing environment.
- Confident presenter and facilitator - able to light up a room during inductions and training.
- Strong track record in recruitment, employee relations, and day-to-day HR partnering.
- Experience driving engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion initiatives.
- Demonstrable knowledge of International HR practices and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, applied with confidence.
- Curious, innovative mindset - you spot opportunities and run with them.
- Strong coaching, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
What We Offer
- Employment Type: This role is offered full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
- Location: Tropic HQ is a short walk from Beddington Lane Tram stop, with direct links to East Croydon and Wimbledon.
- Hybrid Working: Enjoy a blend of office and remote working with a minimum of 3 days in the office.
- Salary: Starting from £38,000
- Benefits: Hybrid working, up to 33 days' holiday, enhanced family leave, Private Medical Insurance, Medicash plan, life insurance, EAP through the Wisdom App, generous product allowance and 50% discount for family and friends, access to retailer discounts, Cycle to Work and Electric Car schemes, free breakfast bar, dog-friendly HQ with a chill zone and pool table, on-site parking, regular social events, and plenty of well-being treats throughout the year.
- Start Date: Immediate
About Tropic
Susie, our Founder and CEO, started Tropic Skincare as a teenager, selling homemade body scrubs at Greenwich Market to help her mum pay the bills. She sold out on her first day, and the incredible response made her realise she had started something quite special.
We still sell that iconic body scrub, and it sits alongside an extensive range of award-winning skincare and beauty products that have made us one of the UK's fastest-growing beauty businesses. Our brand is certified vegan, cruelty-free and CarbonNeutral, and our infinite purpose is to create a healthier, greener, more empowered world. And that's where you come in
We're looking for creative and ambitious people who share our vision and get excited about beauty that's both innovative and sustainable. If you're passionate about skincare and have a genuine desire to empower communities across the globe, you could be a great fit.
Apply now if you're ready to join a vibrant team who believes beauty knows no bounds
Tropic's Commitment to Equal Opportunities
Our team is as diverse as it is talented because at Tropic, we go the extra mile to cultivate a culture of respect and belonging. We value every candidate, respect protected characteristics and never discriminate. We also provide reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities at every stage of the hiring process, so if this is something you need, please let our recruitment team know at the earliest opportunity
Ultimately, the most important thing for us is hiring the best person for the job, so we focus on skills, experience, and qualifications to ensure our process is fair and that our candidates always have a great experience with Tropic.
