About us

At Onemda, we're passionate about supporting adults with intellectual disability in learning and life. For more than 50 years, we've been delivering a unique mix of learning and therapeutic services that support participants to maximise their wellbeing, achieve their goals and reach their potential.

We are looking for a Part Time 3 Days per week Cafe Coordinator to join our team on a 6-month fixed contract with the possibility of an extension.

What this role involves

We are seeking a Café Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operations and growth of Onemda's Embrace Café—a participant-led social enterprise that supports people with disabilities to develop real-world skills in a café environment.

This role combines hospitality coordination with a strong focus on inclusive practice and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Embrace Café, ensuring it runs efficiently, inclusively, and in alignment with Onemda's values.

  • Drive business development initiatives to grow the café's presence, customer base, and revenue streams.

  • Promote the Embrace Café within the local community, building brand awareness and fostering community partnerships.

  • Develop and deliver practical, skills-based training aligned with hospitality industry standards to support participant learning.

  • Support participants to actively contribute to café operations, building their confidence and capability.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, families, and external stakeholders.

  • Monitor performance and provide regular updates to stakeholders on café operations and growth opportunities.

  • Sound written and verbal communication, literacy and interpersonal skills

Eligibility

To deliver what we need in this role, you will need to have:

  • Relevant qualification in either Café Management or the Disability sector

  • Current Drivers Licence

  • NDIS Workers Screening Clearance and Working with Children's Check

  • Previous experience working with adults with an intellectual disability desirable
