A leading international law firm is seeking an exceptional Special Counsel to join its thriving Melbourne-based Employment practice. This senior role offers genuine autonomy to develop your practice, work with established clients across Australia, and position yourself as a market leader.
In this role, you will lead complex workplace relations matters across the Fair Work Commission, Federal Court, and state jurisdictions, mentor junior lawyers, drive business development initiatives, and provide strategic advisory services on employment law, discrimination, health & safety, and industrial relations. You will also handle Employment Practices Liability (EPL) work for major insurers and have the opportunity to build and lead your own high-performing team.
You will have at least 8+ years PQE with deep workplace relations expertise, including proven Fair Work Commission and Federal Court experience, strong client relationship skills, and a natural ability to mentor and lead. The ideal candidate is collaborative, client-focused, ambitious, and ready to take the next step in their career.
