National Supply Chain Manager

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Sharp & Carter Full time

Company Overview:
Our client is a dynamic and rapidly growing building products company with national operations and a growing international supply base. With a strong commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and long-term growth, they are making significant investments across their network — including the rollout of a new ERP system and development of a new flagship site. Backed by a forward-thinking leadership team, the business is entering a pivotal phase of transformation, positioning itself for sustained commercial success.

Position Overview:
This is a newly created, business-critical role designed to bring structure, discipline, and strategic oversight to the end-to-end supply chain and procurement function. Reporting into the executive team, the Supply Chain & Procurement Lead will play a key role in shaping the company's future by optimising supply chain performance, improving cost-to-serve, and building scalable processes that support the next 3-5 years of growth. With significant executive backing and a mandate to deliver real impact, this role presents an exceptional opportunity for a commercially minded supply chain leader ready to take ownership and drive transformation

What You'll Own

  • Own
    S&OP and Demand Planning:
Take full ownership of the Sales & Operations Planning process from the ground up. Forecasting is immature, planning is still manual, and the business needs a structured, scalable approach. An ERP is in place - you'll help to unlock its full capability.
  • Supply Planning & Inventory:
Lead end-to-end supply planning across a complex network of 2,000+ SKUs and 6 internal warehouses across ANZ (Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Auckland).

Balance availability with efficiency - reduce inventory transfers, increase DIFOT, and release working capital through smarter planning and stocking strategies.
- Strategic Procurement & Contract Management:
Redesign the procurement strategy across global suppliers, with a focus on Asia and Europe.

Renegotiate supplier agreements, drive commercial value, and establish long-term, performance-based partnerships. You'll play a key role in reducing cost-to-serve and improving gross margin.
- Process, Systems & People Leadership:
Drive procurement and planning process improvement - bring best-practice thinking to a function that's ready for change.

Leverage ERP and other tools to build robust, data-led operations.

Lead and develop a small, experienced team based in Australia across supply chain and procurement.

This is a true leadership role - influencing up, down and across the business.

About You

You're commercially minded, confident building from the ground up, and experienced in leading procurement and supply planning functions across national or multi-site networks.

You'll bring:

  • Proven experience in S&OP, demand/supply planning, inventory and procurement strategy.
  • Exposure to international supply chains, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
  • Strong commercial acumen - focused on EBITDA, working capital, and service performance.
  • Leadership skills to influence stakeholders, mentor team members and drive change.
  • NetSuite experience a bonus (but not essential).

Why Join?

  • Onsite gym + parking | Melbourne northern suburbs location
  • Build a national function with full executive support
  • Privately owned business that has a real appetite for change and supply chain excellence
  • Direct line to a CEO who understands what's needed - and wants someone to take control of the function
