The Moreton Bay Boat Club is seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to support our Head Chef and lead day-to-day kitchen operations at our friendly, well-established venue.
Located right on the water with an attached marina, we offer a fantastic working environment, supportive team culture, and excellent onsite facilities — including onsite parking and marina views.
As Sous Chef, you'll play a key leadership role in maintaining the smooth running of a busy kitchen. You'll work closely with the Head Chef to oversee service, manage staff, maintain high culinary standards, and ensure food quality and presentation are consistently excellent.
This is a hands-on, full-time salaried position suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in their work.
- Support the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management
- Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
- Assist with ordering, stock control, and menu planning
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-volume kitchen
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Organised, reliable, and passionate about quality food
- Able to work across a rotating roster including weekends and functions
- Relevant trade qualifications and food safety certification
- Attractive salary: $80,000 – $90,000 + super
