Head of Procurement

We are seeking an experienced and strategically minded Head of Procurement to lead our Procurement function and drive excellence across our sourcing, supplier management, and commercial operations. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for delivering best-in-class procurement strategies, strengthening governance frameworks, and ensuring optimal value, quality, and compliance across the organisation's supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

In this senior position, you will be accountable for:

  • Developing and executing the organisation's end-to-end procurement strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing procurement team.
  • Managing major supplier relationships, negotiations, and commercial contracts to ensure value for money, risk mitigation, and long-term strategic alignment.
  • Overseeing category management, tender processes, and procurement governance to ensure compliance with policies, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Driving cost optimisation initiatives and identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Providing strategic procurement advice to Executive Leadership and key internal stakeholders.
  • Implementing robust reporting, analytics, and performance measurement frameworks across procurement activities.

About You

You will bring exceptional commercial acumen, strong leadership capability, and deep experience in procurement within a complex environment. To be successful, you will demonstrate:

  • Extensive senior-level procurement experience, ideally within large, multi-site or high-volume organisations.
  • Proven ability to lead strategic sourcing initiatives and manage high-value contracts.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at Executive and Board levels.
  • A solid understanding of procurement governance, risk management, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field; CIPS accreditation is highly regarded.
