
Complex Fraud Analyst

This role is a 12 month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Fraud Risk Operations Associate Director, the Complex Fraud Analyst within the External Fraud Risk Team is responsible for the investigations and analysis into incidents involving dishonesty (such as fraud or theft) and is required to provide specialist investigative support and analytical expertise to support internal and external fraud units.
The primary objective of the role is to reduce customer, subscription, and network fraud through the prevention and detection of external fraud trends through effective monitoring of high-risk activity and root cause analysis.
Your day to day will consist of
- Cut through complex fraud scenarios so that root causes can be addressed optimally by employing innovative solutions.
- Understanding of key telecommunications products (mobile, fixed, internet) and associated data and sophisticated process flows.
- Managing SQL, database systems and complex analysis.
- Completing Fraud Risk Assessments.
- Leading Projects as the Fraud SME.
- Identifying, and following through fraud issues that impact Optus and its customers.
What makes you perfect for the role?
- Fraud and investigation experience.
- Experienced with MS PowerPoint (Advanced), Teradata SQL, Relational databases, SQL & Oracle SQL, Alteryx, Python, Tableau.
- Extensive experience within a similar Fraud Analyst role with prove experience interrogating multiple data sources.
- Experience in Credit/ Fraud in Telco.
- Strong technical background and the ability to analyse and interpret Teradata SQL.
