The vast majority of the prescriptions dispensed under the Federal Government's subsidised Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) are available at the same price for all Australians wherever they live.
The Guild is registered under the federal Fair Work Act (Registered Organisations) Act 2009 as an employers' organisation.

The Membership Recruitment Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting and advancing the mission of The Pharmacy Guild of Australia, NSW Branch. This position is responsible for driving membership growth, delivering exceptional service to members, and ensuring the effective promotion of member benefits and business support services.
Key responsibilities:- Member Recruitment & Retention: Proactively recruit new members and retain existing ones by articulating the value proposition of Guild membership and delivering a superior member experience.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of membership recruitment or sales experience is required for this position.
- Relationship Management: Build, develop, and maintain strong, positive relationships with non-members, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- New Member Support: Provide timely and effective assistance to new members, ensuring all activities align with the Guild's constitution, policies, and strategic direction.
- Data Management: Maintain, update, and optimize membership databases to support engagement and operational efficiency.
- Promotion of Services: Actively promote learning and development programs, business support offerings, and other member benefits to both members and non-members.
- Event Coordination: Plan and execute non-member events and activities to foster engagement and community.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with senior managers to develop and implement strategies that optimize membership processes and exceed sales targets.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with key stakeholders, including the Director, Membership Services & Communications, Membership Services Manager, Branch Director, and Guild Branch committee.
- Drive Membership Growth
Proactively recruit new members and retain existing ones by clearly communicating the value of Guild membership and delivering a superior member experience.
- Build and Manage Relationships
Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with non-members, stakeholders, and internal teams to foster engagement and loyalty.
- Promote Member Benefits and Services
Actively promote learning and development programs, business support offerings, and other member benefits to both members and non-members, ensuring effective uptake and engagement.
