We're seeking a detail-focused and motivated Overhead Wiring (OHW) Designer to support the delivery of major rail infrastructure projects in South East Queensland.
This is a hands-on design role responsible for assisting the complete design process, producing accurate drawings & technical documentation, while ensuring compliance with relevant standards. The role is ideal for someone with 3–5 years' OHW design experience who is proficient in MicroStation and thrives on working both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
What You'll Do
You'll play a key role in delivering overhead wiring design packages for large-scale rail projects. This includes preparing OHW drawings, reports, and specifications in line with project requirements, safety standards, and client expectations. You'll produce accurate drawings, review designs for compliance, and work closely with internal project teams to solve technical challenges. As part of WIRED, you'll contribute to our culture of continuous improvement by applying practical solutions and innovative thinking to every project.
Essential
- 3–5 years' experience designing
- OHW design experience in Australia
- Proficient in MicroStation
- Engineering tertiary qualification or Cert IV/Diploma/Advanced Diploma in a relevant discipline
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to project teams
- High-level communication, attention to detail, and organisational skills
Desirable
- Experience working to 25kV/QR standards and processes
- Experience working on large rail projects
