About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented wait person/all rounder to join our team at Jackman and McRoss Bakery in the vibrant suburb of Battery Point, Tasmania. In this full-time position, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and contributing to the smooth running of our busy bakery and cafe.

What you'll be doing

  • Greeting and assisting customers with their orders in a friendly and professional manner

  • Taking orders and processing payments accurately. Table service.

  • Barista skills would be great.

  • Restocking and maintaining the presentation of the service counter and dining area

  • Assisting with the food section. Reading dockets and being able to handle & plate food confidently and quickly.

  • Adhering to all health, safety, and hygiene standards

  • Providing excellent customer service and contributing to a positive team environment

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience working as a wait person within a fast paced hospitality venue.

  • Table service knowledge.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide friendly and attentive service to customers

  • Fit into a great team. Must be hard working and ready to learn. Fast on your feet.

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • A genuine passion for food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation

  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekend.

  • Full time is 5 days a week. 38 hours.

  • A current Food Handling Certificate or the ability to obtain one
