The Swan Coastal District encompasses both the metropolitan Perth and parts of the Peel region. It extends along the west coast from Lancelin in the north to south of Mandurah and east to the edge of the Darling Scarp. The Swan Coastal District employs over 100 staff across multiple work centres (Mandurah, Wanneroo, Yanchep, Fremantle and Victoria Park) with the district headquarters based at Wanneroo.
We currently have an opportunity for a District Manager - Swan Coastal District.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, this position provides district management and leadership to a diverse team managing the conservation of wildlife, lands, waters and resources and the engagement of Traditional Owners to achieve departmental and government outcomes.

In this role, you will be a Multiple Area Leader to help drive positive change.
The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.

Selection Criteria
- Evidence of empowering leadership experience in a large multidisciplinary team, substantial competence in long term planning and financial and risk management and at Level 8 experience in steering and implementing change.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated skills in stakeholder and partner engagement and management with community leaders and Traditional Owners. At Level 8 evidence of abilities include resolving issues and managing expectations in the context of an articulated strategic direction.
- Substantial (Level 7) or extensive (Level 8) experience in the field of natural land and resource management including conservation, fire management, emergency management, visitor risk and parks and visitor services.
