The Role

We are urgently seeking a Female Muslim Support Worker for an elderly female participant in Fawkner.

The participant requires a kind, trustworthy, and culturally understanding support worker who can provide companionship, assist with daily routines, and engage in prayer and conversation.

Participant Overview:

  • Elderly female participant in Fawkner
  • Gentle and kind personality
  • Values faith, prayer, and respectful companionship
  • Prefers a Muslim female support worker aged 30+ for cultural and personal comfort

Supports Required:

  • Preparing and serving tea and warming up dinner
  • Engaging in light conversation and companionship
  • Participating in prayer with the participant (Muslim faith)
  • Providing calm, reassuring presence and emotional support
  • Assisting with light daily routines and evening preparation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build a trusting, respectful relationship with the participant
  • Offer compassionate companionship and faith-based support
  • Maintain professional boundaries while fostering a warm environment
  • Ensure the participant's comfort, dignity, and safety at all times

Work Hours:

  • Location: Fawkner, VIC
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Evening hours available

Remuneration:

  • A$37.50 per hour + travel allowance
  • Paid fortnightly
  • In line with industry standards (+ Superannuation)
  • Specific details will be discussed with successful applicants

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered, applicants must meet the participant's preferences and GNCS standards:

  • Female Muslim Support Worker
  • Aged 30 years or older
  • Fluent English and strong communication skills
  • Calm, kind, and respectful personality
  • Experience supporting elderly participants (preferred)
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Valid First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009)
  • National Police Check (within last 12 months)
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or Aged Care (highly regarded)
  • Reliable vehicle and current driver's license (preferred)
