Our Client is seeking an experienced Procurement Lead to join their Melbourne team on an initial 4-month contract. In this pivotal role, you'll manage all purchasing activities — from sourcing and supplier negotiations to ensuring the on-time delivery of raw materials and packaging. You'll drive best value procurement while maintaining compliance with GMP, corporate, and divisional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee purchasing for indirect and contract manufacturers across Australia.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships, introducing competition and dual sourcing.
  • Ensure timely material supply aligned with production and customer demand.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to meet company objectives and cost targets.
  • Manage supplier performance, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate SAP purchasing data and produce monthly metrics reports.

About You:

  • Degree in Science, Business, or Logistics (or equivalent).
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, medical devices or healthcare setting.
  • Proven procurement and supplier management experience.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and planning skills.
  • Knowledge of GMP, MRP, and import regulations.
  • Proficient in SAP and MS Office suite.
