We are pleased to announce an excellent opportunity for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student nurses looking to launch their careers. As a Cadet, you will support the healthcare team and work under the supervision of registered nurses to deliver delegated aspects of patient care. These responsibilities will be assigned based on the professional judgment of the supervising nurses and aligned with your educational background and assessed competencies.
This program provides valuable employment experience in a supportive and professional environment, with potential shifts in Emergency, Medical, and Surgical units. We are committed to fostering a friendly, team-oriented workplace, offering comprehensive orientation to both the department and the organization, as well as in-house salary packaging and free parking.
These part-time positions guarantee 40 shifts (8 hours per shift), with additional ongoing opportunities available. Shifts will be scheduled across seven days, and exact hours will be negotiated with successful applicants. For further information, please refer to the Position Description.
These positions are fixed term and will conclude when either:
- The employee terminates their employment, or
- On being granted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- When the employee withdraws, defers or fails their undergraduate degree.
We are seeking applicants who have:
- A current enrolment and have successfully completed the first 12 months of an undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing qualification.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
- Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital environment is desirable
- A thorough understanding and respect for confidentiality requirements.
