About the role

We are seeking a talented Soil Technician to join the team at Civiltest Pty Ltd, a leading provider of laboratory and technical services based in Darwin, NT. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for conducting a wide range of soil tests and analyses to support the company's projects across the Northern Territory.

What you'll be doing

  • Performing complex soil testing procedures, including moisture content, density, particle size analysis, and Atterberg limits
  • Accurately recording and documenting test results, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and procedures
  • Liaising with project managers and clients to understand testing requirements and provide technical guidance
  • Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results
  • Adhering to strict health, safety, and environmental protocols in the laboratory and on-site
  • Collaborating with the wider technical team to identify process improvements and drive innovation

What we're looking for

  • Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques is preferred
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Soil Technician or in a similar laboratory role
  • Nuclear gauge licence is mandatory
  • White card is mandatory
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting a range of soil tests and analyses to industry standards
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Current full driver's license
  • The ability to travel to remote project sites to provide cover as required
