About the Role
As the Casual Dispensary Assistant/Technician, you will be responsible for assisting the Pharmacist in the dispensary area. You will coordinate the distribution of incoming stores, manage stock rotation and shelf life to ensure efficient use of expiring stock, and the disposal/return of items. You will assist in stocktaking of medical and dental supplies in accordance with Defence Policies and Procedures, this may include customer service, and other general dispensary duties.

As the ideal applicant, you will have:

  • A Certificate Qualified non-pharmacist Dispensary Assistant/Technician or a Dispensary Technicians Course Certificate, or equivalent
  • At least 2 years' full-time experience as a Dispensary Assistant/Technician within the last 5 years
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team to support the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality care to patients.
  • Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance.

About the Location
Robertson Health Centre is located on Robertson Barracks in Holtze, 15 km east of the city of Darwin. The facility has a routine dependency of approximately 2,800 defence staff, with a large reserve component. The Barracks also accommodates an additional 2,500 US marines every 6 months from May to September. The health centre provides primary medical, pharmaceutical, dental, physiotherapy, and mental health services, and operates a 22-bed 24/7 ward. Standard operating hours are , Monday-Friday.
