Your new role

  • Strong understanding of strategic sourcing and category management.
  • Extensive experience in sourcing and category management, including successful supply market research, commercial strategy preparation, managing complex requirements, and participating in high-value negotiations.
  • Proven experience in preparing Sourcing Strategies / Procurement Plans, Recommendations for Award, and Board Papers.
  • Significant post-award contract and supplier performance management experience for complex commercial arrangements.
  • Experience in large, multi-disciplined, and geographically dispersed organisations, particularly in engineering, mining, infrastructure asset management, or utilities.
  • A degree in Commerce, Supply Chain, Law, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge or experience in WA Public Sector Procurement.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Conduct research, develop commercial prototypes, analyse 'price' and 'demand' levers, and utilise supply market intelligence to create commercially advantageous sourcing strategies.
  • Develop sourcing strategies in consultation with Contract Owners, key stakeholders, and the Team Lead – Category Management, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of business process value chains and operational methodologies within your assigned categories.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring within the team in line with category management processes.
  • Develop and lead negotiation strategies.
  • Liaise with Legal for negotiation of legal departures.
  • Act as the Corporation's representative for all notices, variations, amendments, and disputes, ensuring formal communications are managed in accordance with contract terms and conditions to protect company interest
