What you will be doing

With a renewed strategic focus on our Online/Digital product offerings, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineering Team Lead to take the reins of the Front-End Engineering domain. This function is dedicated to enhancing our digital online presence and delivering exceptional user experiences through innovative technology solutions.

• A hands-on leader for a team of talented software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment, driving the technical strategy and providing leadership to your team in a fast-paced innovation-focused environment
• Oversee and lead the development and maintenance of our digital online presence, plug-ins, etc across the lifecycle of UX design (sketches, wireframes), journey maps, design prototypes and high-quality deployed code
• Work within a scrum agile methodology, collaborating with Product, other Engineering teams, and internal stakeholders, to deliver the Online/Digital Roadmap across both Domestic and FX Payments.
• Drive the adoption of modern development tools and practices, ensuring the team stays up to date with industry trends.

Responsibilities and Key Performance Indicators

• Develop and execute on technical strategies and roadmaps by overseeing and driving delivery of a comprehensive digital online capability for Monoova's clients
• Drive planning and refinement of seasonal goals, ensuring there is alignment between the Company, group, and teams
• Foster a culture of communication, bridging the communication gap between teams, internal stakeholder groups, and wider executive leadership
• Invest in working with engineers on growth and development opportunities to help further their skillset and growth, with an ability to deliver relevant and timely feedback (positive & constructive) to help them to continuously improve and learn
• Be heavily involved in hiring as needs; build and grow high-performing and highly engaged teams of world-class engineers by attracting, interviewing, and selecting talent for your group
• Adherence to all IT policies and procedures
• Completion of all required compliance training and requirements
• Specific additional ongoing quarterly goals as agreed with CTO
• Complete designated skills training as agreed per quarter

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge

• Experience with technical and people leadership - having previously led small high-performing teams.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in software engineering.
• Hands-on experience with the design, development, and deployment of digital software solutions with demonstrable product and commercial acumen
• Coding proficiency and experience as a full stack software engineer with expertise in frontend (React) and backend API (.Net) development
• Familiarity with large-scale software delivery in cloud-based environments
• Good knowledge of Microservices system design, architecture and related software development CICD processes, GitOps etc.
• Familiarity with front end testing, observability tools and debugging
• Strong proficiency in the technical stack set out below.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; with the ability to work with a diverse range of individuals from different backgrounds and with different professional and personal needs
• Payments, banking, and financial industry experience is advantageous or willingness to learn is key
