The Australia War Memorial is seeking to fill a variety of positions in the Exhibitions section.

The Exhibitions Section has responsibility for the development and management of the Memorial's galleries and touring exhibitions programme. This includes the planning and delivery of permanent and temporary exhibitions, displays and travelling exhibitions, including the implementation of an extensive gallery maintenance programme and integration during the Development Project.

The roles will be filled in a non-ongoing and ongoing capacity and include:

Manager Exhibitions EL1

The EL1 Manager, Exhibitions, will provide project management and administrative support in the planning, implementation and maintenance of permanent, temporary and touring exhibitions and support the delivery of transition projects that integrate the Development Project with existing Memorial exhibitions and displays.

Exhibitions Team Leader APS6

The Exhibitions Team Leader works directly to the EL1, Manager, Exhibitions and EL2 Head, Exhibitions as required. The position requires experience in the delivery of interpretative exhibition design projects within the museum or cultural sector; an understanding of museum practice; the ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously at various stages; and high-level communication and liaison skills.

Exhibitions Officer APS5

The position requires experience and skills in the development and maintenance of interpretative exhibitions for permanent galleries and touring exhibitions. Experience with design projects in the museum or cultural sector; a thorough understanding and appreciation of contemporary museum practice; the ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously; as well as high level communication and liaison skills.

Position Eligibility

  • Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
