EcoPellets Tasmania is an energy company specializing in delivering sustainable wood bioenergy solutions. We are one of Australia's largest producers of sustainable wood pellets, which provide a low-carbon alternative to fossil fuels.

Position:

We are looking for a skilled machine operator to operate manufacturing equipment and be responsible for all aspects of the continuous operation of the pellet mill. Responsibilities include ensuring safety, operating equipment, monitoring performance, setting up machines, and cleaning.

This position offers a competitive salary and is covered under the Timber Industry Award.

Applicants will need the following skill sets:

  • Possess knowledge of computer programs on computer-controlled machines.
  • Have a forklift ticket.
  • Be familiar with and able to use general hand tools such as drills, grinders, cutters, etc.
  • Have the capacity to learn and understand plant operations in the processing facility.
  • Have the physical ability to perform strenuous work.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect equipment daily.
  • Perform basic maintenance to keep equipment in clean, good working order.
  • Ability to operate the machine in a timely and safe manner.
  • Responsible for other duties assigned to the job.
  • Have a good work ethic and be able to work irregular hours including some weekend work.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
