Communications Officer

Location: ACT, TAS, SA, VIC, NSW, QLD

Help deliver a historic national reform by joining a project team supporting the implementation of the VETS Act — the most significant legislative change for veterans in over a century. As a Communications Officer, you will play a critical role in informing, educating and engaging stakeholders across government and the veteran community. Bring your creativity, writing flair and stakeholder engagement skills to a high-impact, fast-moving initiative.

Key Duties:

  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans and content
  • Coordinate communication activities with internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage web content across internet and SharePoint platforms
  • Write briefs, talking points, internal communications, fact sheets, and other materials

Key Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering communication strategies in government settings
  • Skilled in writing for a range of formats and audiences using plain language principles
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination capabilities
  • Knowledge of strategic communication and change support best practices
