About the Role

As the Speech Pathologist with Student Support Services you will be required to work in Horsham - South West as part of a small multidisciplinary area based team to build the capabilities of student support services and schools to support children and young people to manage complex behaviours and access their education.

You will provide a range of speech pathology supports to school aged students to improve student learning. You will have highly developed communication, networking and interpersonal skills that enable you to liaise effectively with a range of people in the education community and beyond.

1 x Ongoing - Full time & 1 x Ongoing - Part Time (FTE 0.55)

This role calls for a driven Speech Pathologist who is passionate about supporting students to participate, communicate and succeed in their learning. You will bring expertise in assessing and supporting communication, language and learning needs, and use evidence based approaches to create practical, meaningful interventions that make a real difference. Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A graduate or post-graduate degree in Speech Pathology.
  • Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • A valid Working with Children Check and full Drivers' License is required for this position.
  • Ability to work flexibly, as Student Support Services is a front-line service requiring rapid response.

Schools and Regional Services comprises 17 Areas across four regions and five central divisions. Within this structure, Student Support Services (SSS) bring together allied health professionals including psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers, occupational therapists and behaviour analysts to support the learning, health and wellbeing of children and young people.

SSS play a vital role in reducing barriers to learning and improving educational outcomes, particularly for vulnerable students. Working as part of area based multidisciplinary teams, SSS partner with schools to deliver consultation, assessment, intervention and capability building through a multi-tiered system of support at individual, group, school and network levels.

You will use your professional expertise to make a meaningful difference for students, families and school communities while working alongside a collaborative and supportive team committed to equity, inclusion and student success.
