With training centres in Perth, Karratha, Adelaide and remote training centres in other states, plus international delivery opportunities, this role offers flexibility for local and overseas applicants. Many of our trainers opt to travel in blocks to deliver training.

Employment Type: Full-time, however we are open to part-time or contract – we're flexible

The Role

As our Senior High Voltage Trainer, you will:

  • Deliver advanced High Voltage Switching Operations training to post-trade electricians and engineers, ensuring they master complex technical concepts and safety-critical procedures
  • Develop and refine HV training programs, scenarios and switching simulations that reflect real-world industry challenges
  • Mentor and assess students through theory, practical switching exercises and workplace-simulated assessments – building competence and confidence
  • Provide constructive feedback that develops technical ability, critical thinking and professional judgment
  • Design assessments aligned to AS/NZS standards and industry competency requirements – ensuring graduates are work-ready
  • Support students to achieve their full potential, with a track record of high pass rates and employer satisfaction
  • Represent PMV professionally across our training centres and at client sites domestically and internationally

About You

This is not an entry-level training position. We need someone who has:

  • 10+ years hands-on experience in high voltage systems – switching, isolation, fault-finding, commissioning
  • Deep knowledge of HV switchgear, protection systems, earthing, permits and switching programs
  • Proven ability to teach and assess – translating technical expertise into clear, engaging learning
  • Experience across mining, oil & gas, utilities, heavy industry or power generation
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116/TAE40122) – or willingness to obtain
  • High Voltage Switching qualifications (UEP/UET units)
  • Current Unrestricted Electrical Licence (or equivalent)
  • Strong ability to explain complex HV concepts clearly to adult learners of varying abilities
  • Passion for mentoring and developing the next generation of HV operators – with a commitment to high competency standards
