About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Plant Operator – Driver in our Civil Operations team on a permanent full-time basis. The successful candidate will play an important role within our operational crews.

You will be responsible for undertaking all duties associated with the safe operation of Council's vehicles and the transportation of staff members, equipment and materials. You will also perform general labouring duties when required.

This position does require knowledge and use of Council's Mobility system. You may be required to work from any of Council's Depots. This position operates on a 76-hour fortnight with a Rostered Day Off once a fortnight.

Essential criteria

• A current Class MR or HR Licence
• Experience in Civil Construction Labouring
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White) Card
• Current Traffic Controller card (Blue ticket) or willingness to obtain
• Knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) work practices

Salary: The salary for this position ranges from $65, $75,586.00 per annum, plus 12% Superannuation, an Adverse Working Conditions Allowance in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award. The salary will be negotiated commensurate with the skills, qualifications and experience of the preferred applicant.

You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, in order to progress through the recruitment process.
