This is a senior leadership opportunity within a well-established national accounting firm, offering a clear pathway to Partnership and the chance to play a meaningful role in the firm's continued growth. With strong year-on-year performance and a deep client base, the firm is looking to appoint an Associate Director to strengthen its Business Services leadership team and help shape the next phase of the practice's evolution.

About the firm

Riverside Recruitment has partnered with a long-standing, multi-partner accounting firm based in Brisbane CBD. The firm has been operating for over 100 years and forms part of a national network, providing scale, stability and career progression opportunities not typically found in smaller practices.

Locally, the firm has 9 Partners, over 70 staff and a growing offshore team. They offer services across Business Services, Audit and CFO Advisory, and have experienced consistent growth of approximately 20% year on year. The firm utilises Xero Practice Manager and continues to invest heavily in systems, training and leadership development.

Flexible working is genuinely supported, with a 37.5-hour work week, flexible start and finish times, and the ability to work from home up to three days per week after probation.

About the role

As an Associate Director within the Business Services team, you will be part of the senior leadership group, working closely with Partners to manage and grow a significant client portfolio. You will take responsibility for reviewing complex work, advising clients at a strategic level and mentoring Managers, Seniors and developing staff.

The client base is diverse and includes medical professionals, construction and building groups, manufacturing businesses and other established private enterprises. This role suits someone who enjoys being hands-on with clients while also stepping into a broader leadership and commercial role.

Experience required

We are keen to speak with candidates currently operating at Senior Manager or Associate Director level within a public practice accounting firm. Ideally, you will be CA or CPA qualified, technically strong in Business Services and comfortable managing teams and client relationships at a senior level. Experience with larger and more complex clients will be highly regarded.
