Who We Are
Green Grid Connect (GGC) is a part of the Gransolar Group, a globally recognised leader in solar photovoltaic energy and battery storage systems, with over 17 years of experience. At GGC, we specialise in delivering cutting-edge solutions across the renewable energy value chain; from integrating electrical and civil engineering, to the development, construction and commissioning of renewable projects.
The Role
This Electrical Engineering role involves leading technical engagement with clients to assess project requirements and deliver fully scoped, costed, and fit-for-purpose solutions during the sales and tendering process. It includes overseeing technical design and estimating for electrical infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with client needs, market standards, and Green Grid Connect's internal capabilities. The position also provides engineering and design support across both pre-contract and active projects, ensuring smooth integration into project delivery. Working within GGC's engineering systems and frameworks, the role collaborates closely with internal and external engineering teams to achieve successful project outcomes
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of technical solutions and cost estimates for HV electrical infrastructure projects during the pre-contract phase.
- Provide customer-focused engineering input that supports the integration of multi-disciplinary aspects of electrical infrastructure design.
- Use engineering software tools (e.g., ETAP, AutoCAD) to produce drawings, models, and studies that support pre-contracts and design works.
- Ensure smooth and professional transfer of information, knowledge, and project deliverables to the Project Delivery team, facilitating a seamless transition from pre-contract to execution.
- Stay abreast of evolving technologies and market trends, providing intelligence and recommendations on new systems and innovations to enhance GGC's offerings.
- Maintain and improve design templates, practices, and standards to ensure consistency and quality across proposals.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards, and actively support a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and practices.
Skills and Knowledge
- Broad technical understanding of HV connection solutions and electrical networks.
- Ability to develop concurrent solution options in complex decision environments.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal and negotiation capabilities.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines across multiple opportunities
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in preparing bids and tender submissions for electrical infrastructure projects, including technical scoping, estimating, and client engagement.
- Proven experience in the design and technical aspects of MV, HV, and energy infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of HV infrastructure project lifecycle, including design, construction, constructability, and solution optioning.
- Experience with power systems design tools (e.g., power flow, fault and protection studies, earthing analysis).
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement integrated HV solutions that are cost-effective and fit-for-purpose.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety and environmental best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering acceptable for membership of Institution of Engineers Australia in the Professional Engineering category.
- Be on a path for registration as Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) is preferable.
