About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Accountant & Payroll professional to provide technical accounting expertise across payroll, month-end close, and compliance. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll oversee end-to-end payroll processing, support financial reporting and audits, and contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives.

You'll work closely with Finance, People & Culture, and the wider organisation to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and strong internal stakeholder support.

This is a fixed term, full time role for a period of 12 months.

Key Responsibilities


• Lead end-to-end payroll processing, including superannuation, leave accruals, and compliance with the Enterprise Agreement.


• Support the Financial Controller with month-end journals, reconciliations, fixed asset register, and reporting.


• Prepare payroll and financial reports, including P&L, leave liability, and annual FTE reporting.


• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and payroll cost modelling.


• Support year-end audits, reconciliations, and external reporting requirements.


• Champion system improvements across Sage and related platforms to enhance efficiency and accuracy.


• Provide financial guidance, reporting insights, and excellent support to internal teams.

About You

You're an organised, detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment. You'll bring:


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.


• 3+ years of accounting experience with demonstrable ownership of payroll processes.


• Strong reconciliation and month-end close experience.


• Advanced Excel skills; experience with Sage highly regarded.


• A proactive, collaborative approach and strong communication skills.
