Casual Strength & Conditioning Coach

MLC School are seeking a passionate and qualified Strength and Conditioning Coach to deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate foundation fitness classes for young students aged 10–16. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with youth, a strong understanding of movement fundamentals, and the ability to create a fun, inclusive, and safe training environment.

Requirements:

• Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Certification (or equivalent).
• Previous coaching experience with children or adolescents, ideally in a school or youth sports setting.
• Understanding of physical development stages and how to coach young athletes safely and effectively. The Strength and conditioning coach who will be able to work with our representative teams and emerging athletes. The strength and conditioning coach will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a strength and conditioning programs for a range of sports, with the three major goals of improving athletic performance, reducing athletic injuries, and teaching lifelong fitness and movement skills.

Selection Criteria:

You will be able to demonstrate your ability and commitment to:

• Working within an existing program and structure
• Availability to work on selected mornings from 6:00am - 8:00am, and some afternoons if available 3:00pm - 5:30pm, or by negotiation
• Monitoring and coaching of students' strength and conditioning to improve their performance.
• Ensuring sessions commence on time and run for the full period, appropriate warm-up and cool-down activities are used, and actively involving all students in training
• Submitting completed attendance roles, team sheets, competition reports and other administrative duties as required
• Representing the School in a professional manner, including dress and communication style.

Essential qualifications for this position include:

• Level 1 or higher Strength and Conditioning Qualifications
• Experience in strength and conditioning working with children or adolescents
• Experience working with representative teams and emerging athletes
• Current NSW Working with Children Check
• Current First Aid/CPR
