Hours: Monday to Friday – onsite position

We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to take full ownership of tax, compliance, and treasury functions within a global logistics and freight business. This is a key role supporting both local operations and international finance teams, offering long term career opportunities.

The Client

Our client is a leading international freight and logistics provider operating across Australia, New Zealand and global trade hubs, supporting end-to-end supply chain solutions across air, sea, road and warehousing.

The business works closely with both local and multinational clients, offering integrated services that include freight forwarding, customs brokerage, transport, distribution and tailored logistics solutions. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial statements, balance sheets and income statements in line with accounting standards.
• Lead monthly Group Tax calculations, supporting internal and external management report submissions.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with Australian accounting and tax regulations, including GST, FBT, WHT, BAS/IAS and fuel tax rebate schemes.
• Provide practical, strategic tax advice and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Work closely with external tax advisors, auditors, the ATO and other regulatory bodies.
• Support treasury functions, employee expense management and SAP Concur processes.
• Partner with business leaders on budgets, forecasts and CAPEX planning.
• Coordinate half-year reviews and end of financial year audits, with a strong focus on tax accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain GL integrity and reporting within CargoWise One.
• Support business-wide projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with month-end closing, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting on accounts payable balances.

About You:

• Presenting with CA/CPA qualifications
• 5+ years' experience in a corporate accounting environment, preferably with exposure to multinational operations or public practice
• Strong technical understanding of AASB standards, Australian tax law and compliance frameworks
• Advanced knowledge of GST, BAS/IAS, FBT and other indirect tax requirements
• Advanced level of Excel
• Familiarity with systems such as Power BI, OneStream, CargoWise or SAP Concur is advantageous
• Comfortable managing deadlines, adapting to business changes and working across different priorities
• A team-first mindset, transparent communicator, calm under pressure and able to handle robust discussions with resilience
• Open to learning, developing and mentoring over time
