Position Title: Water Truck Driver

Employment Type: Casual (3 days per week, with potential for additional days)

Department: Civil Works / Operations

Location: Fairfield Council Area, Sydney NSW

Reports To: Team Leader – Civil Works / Supervisor

Position Objective:

To safely and efficiently operate a water truck to support council construction, maintenance, and roadwork operations. The role contributes to the effective delivery of civil works services by providing dust suppression, water supply, and general assistance to site activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a water truck in accordance with road safety and workplace regulations for our business Arax Civil.
  • Carry out water carting and dust suppression for roadworks, parks, and construction projects.
  • Conduct daily pre-start checks, minor maintenance, and cleaning of the vehicle.
  • Ensure safe operation of the truck in various site conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and adhere to Council's safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
  • Report any maintenance issues, incidents, or hazards to the supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate records of water use and daily activities as required
Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Current MR (Medium Rigid) driver's license.
  • Valid Construction White Card.
  • Demonstrated safe driving record.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow direction.
  • Understanding of basic vehicle maintenance and workplace safety requirements.

Desirable:

  • Experience operating a water truck within civil construction, council, or roadwork environments.
  • Knowledge of local area and council operations.
  • HR license (if held).
Work Conditions:
  • Casual position – 3 days per week (potential for additional shifts as required).
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours to meet operational needs.
