About the role

MRH Disability Services Pty Ltd is seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our team in Smeaton Grange, NSW. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them to live independently and achieve their personal goals.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting participants with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Facilitating and supporting participants participation in social, recreational, and community-based activities
  • Advocating for participants rights and ensuring their safety and wellbeing
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and records of participant progress and service delivery
  • Promoting participant independence and empowerment

What we're looking for

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar support worker or caregiver role, preferably in the disability or aged care sector - alternatively able to demonstrate your passion for the disability sector and willingness to learn with a hands-on approach.
  • A strong understanding of person-centered approaches and the ability to tailor support to individual needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with participants
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges
  • A passion for making a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities
  • A current Australian driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • A willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
