At SOILCO, we're passionate about creating a sustainable future and we know that starts with our people. We're looking for a Payroll Advisor to join our friendly team and take ownership of end-to-end payroll across all SOILCO entities.

About the Role

In this role, you'll manage the full payroll process for our expanding workforce ensuring everyone is paid correctly and on time under the relevant Awards. You'll also partner closely with our People and Finance teams to streamline processes, support compliance, and enhance the employee experience.

You'll oversee all payroll-related compliance including:

  • Payroll tax, PAYG, STP, superannuation, and workers' compensation returns
  • Award interpretation and employee record management
  • Payroll integration for new acquisitions and identifying any compliance gaps

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll with accuracy and care
  • Ensure statutory obligations and returns are completed on time
  • Build strong rapport with employees, handling queries with warmth and professionalism
  • Maintain and update employee records
  • Collaborate closely with Finance and Shared Services teams
  • Embrace technology and automation to enhance efficiency
  • Provide analysis on payroll costs and trends

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Australian payroll
  • Experience across multiple sites or Awards (Clerks, Waste, or Nursery Awards desirable)
  • High attention to detail, numeracy, and accuracy
  • A proactive and solutions-focused mindset
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A passion for continuous improvement and supporting a positive workplace culture
  • Valid Driver's Licence
