From feasibility and planning through to design, construction supervision and maintenance, we deliver sustainable and innovative engineering solutions. Join our Stormwater Drainage team, where you'll play a key role in hydraulic analysis and design for major infrastructure initiatives.

The Opportunity

  • Independently deliver drainage design and hydraulic assessments for projects ranging from minor upgrades to major infrastructure developments.
  • Lead drainage design packages, managing small teams and supporting junior engineers and modellers.
  • Provide expert technical advice on road drainage, culverts, and water-sensitive urban design, ensuring quality control and mentoring others.
  • Prepare clear and concise technical documentation including reports, cost estimates, tender submissions and design certifications.
  • Represent the drainage team in client meetings, contribute to internal initiatives, and support strategic planning activities.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.

You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?

  • A degree in Civil Engineering and either Chartered status or progress towards it (IEAust or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in drainage design for transport infrastructure and sound knowledge of relevant standards (QUDM, RPDM, Austroads, AR&R).
  • Proficiency in 12d software (essential), with DRAINS and Microsoft Office skills also desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Commitment to safety in design, quality assurance, and client satisfaction, with the ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
