Summary:
The Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Officer at Wirraka Maya Health Services plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of healthcare services for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating CQI programs that align with organizational goals and legislative requirements, ensuring culturally appropriate and effective health services are delivered to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate CQI programs in line with organisational and legislative requirements.
- Coordinate CQI activities using the 'Plan Do Study Act' (PDSA) methodology to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Provide leadership and education on CQI tools and methodology, facilitating training sessions for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure up-to-date policy development and procedural compliance.
- Maintain infection control standards while ensuring adherence to health and safety policies.
- Provide accurate reporting on CQI activities to the Senior Management Team (SMT).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Nursing or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in quality improvement or healthcare management roles within a medical or nursing context.
- Strong understanding of continuous quality improvement methodologies including PDSA cycles.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders including Aboriginal communities.
- Proficient in data analysis tools for reporting on health service outcomes.
