About the Role:
As the Coatings Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project, ensuring activities are carried out safely, on time, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This includes overseeing mechanical works, rigging, welding, surface preparation, and coating teams. You will be responsible for tasks such as removing and replacing tank internals, structural steel remediation, and supervising UHP water blasting, abrasive blasting, and coating applications. - Monitor site practices to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
3. Coordination and Scheduling:
- Plan and coordinate activities to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
- Liaise with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to align expectations and deliverables.
4. Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all work meets project specifications, Australian Standards, and established quality requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections, promptly addressing non-conformances to maintain project integrity.
5. Team Leadership:
- Provide clear guidance and support to the workforce, fostering a positive, collaborative, and productive environment.
- Ensure time sheets for all crew members are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Encourage professional development and maintain strong communication within the team.
6. Resource Management:
- Allocate and manage labour, materials, and equipment to optimise project efficiency.
- Work with project management and coordinate the procurement of materials and equipment to ensure availability when needed.
- Monitor resource usage to minimise waste and maintain cost-effectiveness.
- Anticipate project needs and adjust resource plans to prevent delays.
7. Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate site logs, progress reports, and safety documentation.
- Provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders on progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Ensure all project documentation is up-to-date, organised, and ready for audits or reviews.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience supervising industrial or construction projects, including structural, mechanical, and surface preparation works.
- Preferred but not essential: Experience managing UHP water blasting, abrasive blasting, coating applications, and poly application.
- Comprehensive understanding of safety requirements in industrial and mining environments, including Australian Standards.
