About this Opportunity
Loreto College Coorparoo is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Vocal Music Teacher for approximately 4 – 5 hours per week (Term Time, casual basis) to join our vibrant music department. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality vocal instruction to students of varying ages and abilities, nurturing their musical growth and passion for singing. This position will be commencing in January 2026.
- Deliver engaging vocal lessons, both one-on-one and in group settings.
 - Prepare students for performances, exams, and competitions.
 - Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
 - Maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment.
 - Collaborate with other music staff for concerts and events.
 
Qualifications and Experience
- Appropriate qualifications in Music, Vocal Performance, Education, or a related field.
 - Demonstrated experience teaching vocal music to children of different ages.
 - Strong knowledge of vocal pedagogy, technique, and repertoire across genres.
 - Experience supporting students through AMEB, Trinity, or other established music curricula and assessment programs (highly regarded).
 - Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
 
About you
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students of all ages. You will possess the ability to demonstrate proper vocal technique, while modelling patience, adaptability, and a supportive attitude. Experience within a secondary school directing choirs or vocal ensembles, or professional performance experience will be highly regarded.
You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the College's Student Protection Policy and processes, and to work alongside our students, you will need to hold a valid Working with Children Check Positive Paid Employee Notice (BlueCard).
