The Role

Based in Rockingham, the Lead Mental Health Clinician will provide leadership, supervision and support to a small team of Mental Health Clinicians delivering services including domestic violence and mental health counselling for women. You will also maintain your own caseload, offering trauma-informed assessment, therapy and case management.

This role works closely with clinical and counselling staff across SHQ and contributes to the development of clinical resources and training materials. You will also oversee contract deliverables, reporting, and participate in the strategic growth of the service.

Your Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Experience


• Demonstrated people management, supervision and leadership skills


• Understanding of government funding and reporting requirements


• High-level knowledge of reflective practice, ethical frameworks and professional guidelines


• Skilled in working with diverse communities including CALD, LGBTQIA+, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and individuals with disability


• Strong risk assessment and management capabilities


• Experience delivering evidence-based interventions for complex mental health, domestic violence and relationship issues


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Knowledge of community resources and referral pathways


• Strong computer literacy and commitment to ongoing professional development

Your Responsibilities


• Lead and support a team of Mental Health Clinicians


• Manage reporting and ensure contract KPIs are met


• Maintain an independent caseload and clinical documentation


• Conduct risk assessments and communicate with referrers and primary care providers


• Deliver evidence-based therapies for a range of mental health and women's health issues


• Participate in service development, team meetings and training delivery


• Engage in regular clinical supervision and CPD

Your Qualifications and Other Requirements


• Tertiary qualification in Social Work or Psychology


• AHPRA registration


• Minimum five years supervised clinical experience


• Working with Children Check


• National Police Clearance (within 6 months)


• Certificate of immunisation or evidence of immunity for Hepatitis B, Influenza, Pertussis, Measles Mumps and Rubella, Varicella
