Montefiore is currently looking to recruit an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary team at our Randwick campus. A current opportunity exists for those seeking full time, permanent employment.
The Role:
This key role will have you working closely with highly skilled and committed multi-disciplinary teams including our Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Speech Pathologist, Dietitians, Podiatrists and Therapy Assistants focussed to dementia care. Together, the team and the organisation are working to exceed the standards of Aged Care provision in Australia.
Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy with current registration as an Occupational Therapist with APHRA
- Minimum 2 years' experience as Occupational Therapist
- Experience with pressure area care, cognitive/dementia screening tools (ACL desirable), seating and wheelchair prescription, functional assessments, falls prevention and equipment prescription
- A passion for working with people who live with moderate-severe dementia
- Efficient time management and priority setting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, promoting an environment of teamwork
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience with dementia care, complex behaviour support, splinting, group settings, pain management and palliative care
