Expression of Interest: Marine Facilities Manager – Berthing Facility – Darwin N.T

Global Logistics provides sophisticated supply chain solutions, from end-to-end or part solutions, warehousing and distribution to dedicated transport solutions, across the globe and to some of the most remote corners of the world.

Government & Defence provides specialised logistics expertise, including relocation services. We work with clients at all levels of government to deliver an extremely diverse range of logistics solutions - from the distribution of healthcare products, managing the relocation of their employees, delivering fleets of government vehicles, through to helicopter rescue services.

About the Role -

Are you ready to lead marine infrastructure operations that support national interests? We are seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced professionals for the role of Marine Facilities Manager within our Government & Defence division, overseeing operations at a strategic berthing facility in Darwin.

This leadership role is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient management of marine infrastructure, including wharf operations, vessel movements, refuelling, and maintenance. You'll be responsible for and to lead and manage a multi-disciplined team, coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure operational excellence and readiness across the site.

Key Responsibilities and duties but not limited to -

  • Lead daily operations of marine facilities including berthing, refuelling, and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Manage compliance with maritime safety regulations, environmental standards, and defence protocols.
  • Oversee site access, mobilisation, and emergency response coordination.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, maintenance schedules, and audit readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement in marine services delivery, asset management, and contractor performance.
  • Support capital works, upgrades, and sustainability initiatives across the facility.
  • Liaise with port authorities, regulatory bodies, and defence representatives.

What You'll Bring to succeed within this role -

  • Proven experience in marine infrastructure, port operations, or naval logistics.
  • Strong understanding of maritime legislation, WHS, and asset/facilities management.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing teams, contractors, and complex operations.
  • Proficiency in marine coordination systems, Microsoft Office, and compliance reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a proactive and analytical mindset.

  • Department of Home Affairs ESC Clearance (Employment Security Clearance)
