About the role

Alto Water & Environmental is seeking a skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join our team in Katherine, NT. This is a full-time position where you'll play a crucial role in supporting our team by maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing electrical and instrumentation systems across various water and wastewater projects throughout the Northern Territory.

What you'll be doing

  • Installing, calibrating, and maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems for water treatment and monitoring equipment
  • Troubleshooting faults and performing corrective and preventative maintenance on a variety of plant and field-based equipment
  • Assisting with the commissioning of new systems and upgrades of existing infrastructure
  • Performing inspections, testing, and recording of equipment performance to ensure operational compliance
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with WHS standards and company procedures
  • Collaborating with engineers, project managers, and other technicians to deliver high-quality service
  • Participating in on-call rotations and attending to urgent site-based issues as required

What we're looking for

  • Certificate III or higher in Electrical or Instrumentation (or equivalent qualification)
  • Current NT Electrical Licence and White Card
  • Experience in industrial, water, or environmental systems is highly regarded
  • Sound knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and SCADA systems
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a proactive work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a field-based environment
  • Valid driver's license
