Aminjarrinja Enterprises Aboriginal Corporation is a 100% Indigenous owned, not-for-profit organisation delivering essential services and infrastructure across Groote Eylandt and surrounding communities. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Refrigeration Technician to join our team on a FIFO basis (4 weeks on, 1 week off).

About the Role

You will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of commercial refrigeration units and air conditioning systems across remote community locations. The role requires a commitment to safety, quality, and environmental compliance, as well as the ability to work effectively in culturally diverse settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and service commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs in a timely manner.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and compliance inspections.
  • Safely handle, recover, and dispose of refrigerants in line with ARCtick requirements.
  • Maintain accurate service reports and records.
  • Work collaboratively with Indigenous staff and community members.

About You

  • Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (or equivalent trade qualification).
  • Current Refrigerant Handling Licence (ARCtick).
  • Electrical licence (restricted or full).
  • Proven experience with commercial refrigeration systems and air conditioning units.
  • Previous experience working in remote locations and with Indigenous people highly regarded.
  • Current driver's licence and Construction White Card.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
