Case Officer, Enhanced Bail Supervision and Support

The Victorian Government has announced funding to establish a two-year metropolitan-based trial, the Enhanced Bail Supervision and Support (EBSS), to enhance Youth Justice's capacity to monitor and support young people on bail. The EBSS model is underpinned by the existing Youth Justice Case Management framework which prioritises:
- partnering with children, families and community supports to promote rehabilitation
- addressing criminogenic risk and needs to reduce the likelihood of re-offending
- utilising strengths based and culturally supported approaches
About the role:
Young people subject to EBSS will be supported by a case management team including a Case Manager, EBSS Case Officer and EBSS Practice Lead. A co-case management model will be used to deliver tailored supervision and support to young people, through strong collaborative practice amongst the case management team. The allocated Youth Justice Case Manager will maintain primary case management responsibility, while supported by EBSS Case Officers and Practice Leads.
This role sits within the broader Youth Justice Bail and Court Advice team and you will work as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.
The responsibilities include
- Providing case support to young people, including engaging with the young person, completing outreach (including home visits) and supporting case management interventions.
- Delivering afterhours support to young people, such as transport to school, work, appointments, and pro-social leisure/recreational activities.
- Providing technical expertise in electronic monitoring to support suitability assessments.
- Installation, removal, troubleshooting and maintenance of electronic monitoring devices for young people subject to EBSS.
- Engaging with complex young people and working therapeutically with young people and their families to promote their rehabilitation.
Successful applicants will be provided with all necessary training to support performance of the role.
Work flexibly across locations and plan your life outside of work ahead of time and have the flexibility of time off during a standard business week.
Case Officers work on a rotating roster. On weekdays you will work either a morning or afternoon shift (morning shifts will be from approximately 6am to mid-afternoon and afternoon shifts from late-morning to 9pm). On weekends and public holidays, shifts will be from approximately 9am to 9pm and rosters will be provided at least 14 days in advance.
This position will be based in the South East with travel to various locations within the area required.
You will receive penalty rates/be remunerated in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2024 that apply to rostered work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Social Work or Diploma in Community Services Work is desirable
- A full Victorian driver's licence is required due to the need to travel within the state.
- A current Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card is required and will need to be provided prior to commencement of employment by the applicant.
